Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist.
Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist are celebrated in our year two program. Per Cannon law children receive these Sacraments at the age of reason which is described as age 7 (exceptions can change this age) (see #3 for more details)
Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in our year seven program or age 12 (see #3 for more details)
Rite of Initiation is for those children who have passed the age for a sacrament and are now ready to receive it. In this preparation, we determine which Sacraments are missing and work with the family and child to prepare the child for all the Sacraments. If the process is for both parent and child they will work together with Father Sam to gain their faith understanding and preparation work. All Sacraments will then be celebrated at the Easter vigil. For Children who are missing sacraments, we will provide the tools to help the child gain an understanding and prepare them for the sacraments. Parent involvement will be required.
