The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is offered for adults who wish to become Catholics or for those who seek a deeper connection to the faith.
The RCIA program serves as a pathway for non-baptized adults or those who are not fully initiated to become Catholic. People learn, reflect and grow spiritually. The main purpose of the program is to help individuals gain an understand and embrace the Catholic teaching and traditions. The program helps adults to become fully initiated into the faith by receiving the Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
The RCIA journey includes the initial learning and exploring of the Catholic faith to help understand the faith. Followed by a period of instructions and formation where a deeper understanding of the faith is discovered. The program goes through stages marked by rites and ceremonies throughout the program year and culminates with the sacraments of initiation celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass.
RCIA helps adults to grow in their relationship with God, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, get acquainted with people in the community and get involved in service within the community.
Our RCIA program starts in September of each year. If you are interested in this program please contact our office (204) 284 – 5140 or email us at info@holyrosarychurch.ca
