With September just around the corner our focus shifts to the faith formation of our children. Recent events have caused us to adapt to many changes and new “norms”. Cooperation, Understanding and Praying during these times will see us get through this as a stronger, healthier Church community.
Our classrooms have been cleaned and will be cleaned on a weekly basis to ensure a safe teaching environment. We will reduce class size to allow for social distancing and continue to monitor the progress in our parish and city and we will continue to make changes as required.
Sacrament Prep:
Due to space and gathering limitation and to ensure the safety of our Children, families and volunteers, we will be offering Catechism classes for First Communion and Confirmation preparation only for the 2020/2021 year. Please register online from our website at www.holyrosarychurch.ca . Pre-registration will help us determine the number of classes and volunteers that will be needed. Registration fees can be paid online through PayPal, mailed to our office at 510 River Av, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0E1 or on the first day of class. The classes will begin September 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM followed by Sunday Mass at Noon. Once registered, you will receive more details via email. As Class size will be controlled to ensure social distancing, children will be assigned to their classrooms we will try to accommodate your request as much as possible.
Families are asked to self-check your health and self-isolate as may be required. Please do not bring your child to class if they show symptoms of being ill or if members of the family are ill. Any child showing signs of illness will not be allowed to enter the classroom and parents will be contacted to pick up their child
For children in other grades:
As Parents are the primary teachers of faith for their children. We encourage families to bring the faith sharing into everyday activities. To assist parents with this task, we will be offering monthly information sessions. These short sessions will give you the tools and ideas needed to teach your child about our faith. Handouts and online links for activities will be provided to make the experience fun and comfortable. You will need to register for the sessions so we can promote social distancing and ensure sufficient material. There will be a fee to cover cost of the Family Catechesis program and material.
