A partnership was formed with four Winnipeg parishes — Holy Rosary Parish, St. Paul’s High School, St. Paul’s College and St. Gianna Parish — to help sponsor refugee families and help them integrate into our community. Together we’ve raised funds and sponsored a Syrian refugee family. Our committee meets on a regular basis and helps our sponsored family meet their needs. We have been blessed to have sponsored our first family and look forward to sponsoring others. The availability of the families is incumbent on the Federal Government which can sometimes result in delays however our committee stays informed so we are ready once the family arrives in Winnipeg.
Financial contributions, personal involvement, and donations of furniture and household goods has allowed the committee to continue their work assisting those seeking refuge and to settle in Canada.
Our committee is bound by government regulation. We are provided with family information from refugees that are registered. We do not have the ability to sponsor family or individuals who are not registered and approved by the government.
Thank you to our parishioners who help make this possible through their monetary and goods donations, as well as the generosity of time, energy and compassion.

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
